UK BASKETBALL TIMELINE FOR 2011-12

• February 11 — Kentucky holds Vanderbilt scoreless the final four minutes and beats the Commodores 69-63 in Nashville.
• February 7 — Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Marquis Teague contribute double-doubles as Kentucky knocks off No. 8 Florida 78-58.
• February 4 — With more than half the crowd in Kentucky blue, the Cats whip host South Carolina 86-52.
• January 31 — Anthony Davis scores 18 points, grabs seven rebounds and blocks seven shots in UK’s 69-44 win over visiting Tennessee.
• January 28 — Terrence Jones scores 27 points to lead Kentucky to a 74-50 win over LSU.
• January 24 — Kentucky gets 19 points off the bench from Darius Miller to win 57-44 at Georgia.
• January 21 — Kentucky makes eight-of-eight free throws inside the final minute to beat visiting Alabama 77-71.
• January 17 — Anthony Davis sets the school’s single-season blocked shot record, plus scores 27 points and grabs 14 rebounds as UK beats Arkansas 86-63.
• January 14 — Kentucky beats Tennessee in Knoxville 65-62.
• January 11 — Trailing 47-45 with 10 minutes remaining, Kentucky rallies to beat host Auburn 68-53.
• January 7 — Kentucky opens SEC play with a 79-64 win over visiting South Carolina.
• January 3 — Down three points at half, Kentucky rallies to beat Arkansas-Little Rock 73-51 at Freedom Hall.
• December 31 — Despite shooting just 29 percent from the floor, Kentucky beats visiting Louisville 69-62.
• December 28 — Kentucky beats visiting Lamar 86-64.
• December 22 — Kyle Wiltjer scores 24 points and Kentucky beats Loyola of Maryland 87-63 at Rupp. Terrence Jones does not dress for the second straight game because of his dislocated finger.
• December 20 — Doron Lamb scores 26 points as Kentucky beats Samford 82-50. Terrence Jones does not dress.
• December 19 — Terrence Jones does not practice and will not start against Samford on Tuesday night.
• December 17 – Kentucky beats Chattanooga 87-65, but Terrence Jones dislocates the pinkie on his shooting hand just four minutes into the game.
• December 12 — Kentucky drops from No. 1 to No. 3 in the Associated Press poll.
• December 10 — Indiana’s Christian Watford hits a three-pointer at the buzzer to give Indiana a 73-72 win over visiting Kentucky.
• December 3 — Kentucky’s Anthony Davis blocks a shot by North Carolina’s John Henson with seven seconds to preserve UK’s 73-72 win over North Carolina.
• Decemer 1 — Anthony Davis nearly gets a double-double with 15 points, 15 rebounds and eight blocked shots to lead UK to an 81-59 win over St. John’s. Terrence Jones led the Cats with 26 points.
• November 26 — Kentucky beats visiting Portland 87-63.
• November 23 — Kentucky beats visiting Radford 88-40.
• November 20 — Kentucky beats Old Dominion 62-52 to win the Hall of Fame Classic in Uncasville, Connecticut.
• November 19 — Kentucky beats Penn State 85-47 in the semifinals of the Hall of Fame Classic in Uncasville, Connecticut.
• November 15 — Kentucky beats Kansas 75-65 in Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden.
• November 14 — John Calipari announces that Stacey Poole, Jr. will transfer.
• November 14 — Anthony Davis named SEC Freshmen of the Week.
• November 11 — Kentucky beats Marist 108-58 in season-opener.
• November 11 — Stacey Poole, Jr. and Terrence Jones involved in a car accident at 2:30 a.m.
• November 10 — Terrence Jones on regional cover of Sports Illustrated.
• November 9 — Terrence Jones (first-team) and Anthony Davis (second-team) named ESPN All-Americans.
• November 7 — Kentucky beats visiting Morehouse 125-40 in final exhibition.
• November 10 — Alex Poythress commits and signs with Kentucky. Is third player to sign in early period.
• November 2 — Kentucky beats Transy 97-53 in first exhibition game of season.
• October 31 — Willie Cauley, a 6-11 center from Kansas, commits to play basketball at Kentucky.
• October 26 — Terrence Jones scores 52 points in Blue-White scrimmage.
• September 22 — Arkansas shooting guard Archie Goodwin becomes UK’s first commitment for 2012.
• August 16 — Kentucky Pros lose to Dominican Republic National Team at Yum Center in Lousiville.
• August 15 — Kentucky Pros lose to Dominican Republic National Team at Rupp Arena.
• July 31 — Darius Miller named a finalist for USA World University Games Team.
• July 30 — NCAA releases statement saying it did not deny Joe B. Hall opportunity to coach Kentucky Pros in exhibition game against Dominican Republic National Team. Says UK withdrew from event because of conflict with NCAA bylaws.
• July 30 — John Calipari tells WKYT that his assistant coaches will coach the Kentucky Pros and that there is a good chance that Joe B. Hall will be coaching Kentucky Pros.
• July 30 — Josh Harrellson tells media that player UK fans will be impressed with is transfer guard Ryan Harrow.
• July 29 — John Calipari announces that he is naming Joe B. Hall as an assistant coach on the Dominican Republic National Team.
• July 29 — Word leaks that Joe B. Hall will not be allowed to coach the Kentucky Pros in August 15 exhibition game against Dominican Republic National Team.
• July 29 — Enes Kanter says he may go play in China during NBA lockout.
• July 29 — DeAndre Liggins says he is seriously considering playing overseas during NBA lockout.
• July 29 — Pre-sale for Aug. 15 exhibition game between Kentucky Pros and Dominican Republic National Team sells out.
• July 27 — John Calipari tweets that plans have been finalized for August 15 exhibition game between Kentucky Pros and Dominican Republic National Team, to be coached by Calipari. Kentucky Pros will consist of John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Eric Bledsoe, Jodie Meeks, Nazr Mohammad, Tayshaun Prince, Rajon Rondo and Keith Bogans.
• July 26 — Former UK player Desmond Allison is shot and killed in Columbus, Ohio.
• July 21 — John Calipari says that Jon Hood may redshirt after tearing his ACL.
• July 20 — Junior guard Jon Hood tears ACL in pick-up game. Surgery scheduled.
• July 8 — Incoming freshman Michael Gilchrist announces that he will now go by Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to honor late uncle who was prominent in his life.
• July 7 — Playing in LeBron James’ skill camp in Akron, incoming freshman Anthony Davis says he relishes chance to win national title.
• June 23 — Enes Kanter taken with No. 3 overall pick by Utah Jazz in NBA Draft. Brandon Knight selected with eighth overall pick by Detroit Pistons. Josh Harrellson taken by New York Knicks with 45th pick. DeAndre Liggins taken by Orlando Magic with 53rd pick.
• May 26 — Former North Carolina State point guard Ryan Harrow announces that he will transfer to Kentucky.
