Eric Bossi of Rivals is reporting that Kansas big man Willie Cauley has committed to Kentucky.

Dave Telep of ESPNU also reporting that Cauley has decided to be a Cat.

Cauley is a 6-foot-11 center/forward from Spearville, Kansas who is ranked No. 28 32 by ESPNU. He had been considering Kansas State, Alabama, Florida and UK before picking the Cats.

UK coach John Calipari watched Cauley play football on Friday night, then Cauley visited Kansas State on Saturday.

He is the second prospect to commit to UK for 2012. Kentucky also has a commitment from Arkansas shooting guard Archie Goodwin.The early signing period begins Wednesday.

Garrett Tucker talked to Archie Goodwin, who said of the Cauley commitment, “”I’m glad he did. He’s a great guy. It kind of surprised me though. Great we got him though.”

The Kansas State blog Wildcat Victory is reporting that Kentucky basketball target Willie Cauley will make his decision next week.

“He had good visits from each program he went to,” his AAU coach Rodney Perry told the website. “There were things that he liked about each place and there were some things that he didn’t like. So it’s just a matter of what’s the best situation, the fit and the best system for him.”

Alabama, Florida, Kansas State and Kentucky are Cauley’s four finalists. Perry said the 6-foot-11, 210-pound center is expected to have a press conference to announce his decision.

Cauley is ranked as the nation’s best 28th prospect in Class of 2012 by Scout. He’s also a pretty decent football receiver.

Kentucky basketball target Willie Cauley, a 6-foot-10 center out of Kansas, had quite the night last Friday in high school football.

The Kansas City star reports:

Turns out, Willie Cauley of Olathe Northwest might be more unstoppable on the football field than he is on the basketball court.

A 6-foot, 10-inch senior, Cauley caught eight passes for 122 yards, including four for touchdowns, in the Ravens’ 40-14 victory last Friday night in Leavenworth.

Cauley, who also blocked an extra-point try, scored on pass plays of 27, 10, 16 and 7 yards from Dalton Rook.

Northwest’s lead stood at 21-14 into the fourth quarter before Cauley’s final touchdown catch, Connor Middleton’s 59-yard dash to the end zone and a 57-yard interception return by Tim Mayes provided breathing room.
