So what is going on with Tony Woods?

KSR said he was all but a Cat. Then KSR said he was not going to be a Cat.

Then on Saturday, CBS Sports’ Jeff Borzello reported that he had been told by Woods’ AAU coach Norman Parker that the former Wake Forest center has not committed to Texas. But he didn’t say he had committed to Kentucky either.

A site called Kentucky Sports Buzz says that Woods is very much in play for Kentucky, but only because he hasn’t committed to Texas.

Nation of Blue said that the Austin American-Statesman said that Woods had committed to Kentucky. That’s not true. Columnist Kirk Bohls predicted that Woods would end up coming to Texas.

At this point, not even Tony Woods may know what is going on with Tony Woods.

Austin columnist predicts Tony Woods will play for Texas

Kirk Bohls, longtime columnist for the Austin American Statesman predicts that Tony Woods will end up playing not for Kentucky, but for Texas.

Big Blue Nation is abuzz this morning over the eighth paragraph of an Andy Katz story on ESPN which seems to say that Tony Woods is coming to Kentucky.

The excerpt:

“The school did a full-blown hearing,” said Grace, who also once represented former Wake Forest center Tony Woods in an assault case dealing with his girlfriend and the mother of their child that was dropped down to a no contest on the assault charge. Woods was dismissed from Wake Forest for the semester and Grace said the one-time Louisville commit told him he will likely go to Kentucky.

But on Sunday, Woods’ former coach suggested that Texas was the leader.

Don’t be so quick to make fun of the other team for taking the player with the troubled past.

Soon a player with a troubled past might be playing for your team.

It might even be that very same player with the troubled past.

That’s the lesson in the Tony Woods story.

Last fall, it appeared the former Wake Forest center, who had plead guilty to a charge of misdemeanor assault for striking his girlfriend, was headed to Lousiville, a development that prompted an outcry from some members of Big Blue Nation, eagerly using Woods as an example of just how desperate the Cardinal basketball program had become.
