Videos: UK seniors talk about wanting to beat Tennessee

Some video from today’s UK football press luncheon. Players made available were seniors. First up is senior offensive guard Stuart Hines. He’s followed by senior cornerback Anthony Mosley. Last, but not least, is senior linebacker Ronnie Sneed (right).

All three said yes a win over the Vols, breaking the 26-year losing streak to the neighbor to the south, would salvage something from this disappointing season. Gametime Saturday is 12:21 p.m. and will be televised by the SEC Network.

Here are the videos.

Video: Stuart Hines talks leadership and being out front

At Media Day, this was Joker Phillips on Stuart Hines: ”He is one of the faces of this program. The reason why we wanted him to be one of the faces of this program, he does everything right. He does everything right, academically, socially, football, and if he does make a mistake in football, he does everything he possibly can to try to get that corrected. We want a guy like Stuart Hines being the face of this program.”

Stuart Hines says line should be strength of the offense

At SEC Media Days on Thursday in Hoover, Alabama, Kentucky offensive lineman Stuart Hines answered questions from those who wonder if the Cats will have trouble scoring points minus Randall Cobb, Derrick Locke and Chris Matthews.

An excerpt of what Hines told ESPN’s Edward Aschoff:

Kentucky returns four veteran starters on the offensive line that has the makings of being one of the best in this league, accumulating more than 60 combined starts in their careers.

Senior guard Stuart Hines leads the group with 24 career starts and has enjoyed the praise he and his other fellow linemen have received this year and expects it to be the guiding force for the Wildcats’ offense this fall.

Stuart Hines rated as one of SEC’s most underrated

Kentucky offensive guard makes the league’s most underrated player list as selected by ESPN’s SEC Blog.

Chris Low writes:

9. Kentucky OG Stuart Hines: The Kentucky guard getting all the love right now is Larry Warford and deservedly so. He’s an excellent player, but don’t sleep on the Wildcats’ “other” guard. The 6-foot-4, 296-pound Hines is one of the better pulling guards in the league and has made 24 starts during his career. It’s no secret that Kentucky will lean heavily on its offensive line in 2011, and Hines — rock-solid in every way — is a big reason why.

The 6-foot-4, 296-pound senior from Bowling Green also has one of the better sense of humors on the team, and a three-year member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
