Larry Glover did his final Sunday morning SportsCentral talk show on WVLK-590 in Lexington last Sunday.

The long-time host is still doing Larry Glover Live from Monday through Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., but decided to give up the Sunday show.

“I just decided to spend more time with my family,” he said via e-mail today. “Plus, the show ties you down for the entire weekend and I just felt like 13 years was enough. Mary Jo Perino is taking it over.”

Perino is the WLEX-TV sports anchor, who sometimes subbed for Larry. She takes over the show full-time this Sunday.

Media Approval Ratings start the week off with WLEX-TV sports anchor Mary Jo Perino.

A Missouri grad, Minnesota native and unabashed Minnesota Vikings fan, Mary Jo is on her second tour of duty at Channel 18. She was with the station for four years before moving to CNN’s Headlines News, then returning to Lexington.

With it being Monday, we pick back up our Media Approval Ratings feature, this week with the local TV sports anchors.

We’ll start with WLEX-TV’s Mary Jo Perino, who is on her second stint with the local NBC affiliate. Mary Jo came to Lexington in 2002, left for a short stint at CNN, then returned to WLEX where she is the sports anchor.
