Jeff Goodman over at FoxSports.com is reporting that, as we’d been hearing, Georgia has focused its sights on Oklahoma head coach Jeff Capel as its choice to replace the discarded Dennis Felton.

According to Goodman, Georgia is willing to offer Capel as much as $2 million a year to get him to come to Athens.

Is Georgia a better job than Oklahoma? They are both primarily football-oriented schools. Georgia might provide a more fertile recruiting ground than does Oklahoma. And it’s closer to Capel’s family, which hails from North Carolina. And Capel will no doubt lose Blake Griffin after this season.

On the other hand, the 34-year-old coach has it going pretty well at OU. Would he want to start over someplace else?
