Update: Illinois coach Ron Zook confirms to the Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette that Nord is coming to Kentucky.
Update: Bruce Feldman of espn, also tweeted: “Heard Steve Ortmeyer out at Kentucky-Greg Nord leaving Illinois to be UKs ST coordinator/TE coach.. Illini looking for his replacement.”
Footballscoop.com is reporting that former Kentucky player and assistant coach Greg Nord is returning to Lexington to replace special teams and tight ends coach Steve Ortmayer.
UK announced tonight that Ortmayer will not be returning next season.
Nord was a UK assistant under Jerry Claiborne. He was then an assistant at East Carolina, Georgia Tech and Louisville. He had recently been added to Ron Zook’s staff at Illinois.
