Update: WSB-TV has a photo of the woman who was arrested with Evans.

According to her Linked-In profile, Fuhrmann is an asset manager in Atlanta.

Agree with my friend Mark Bradley of the AJC, who writes that Georgia athletic director Damon Evans’ DUI is no laughing matter. Yes, people make mistakes. But athletic directors are in a position of higher authority, in this case where young people are involved.

Writes Bradley:

Damon Evans warrants the same legal protection as everyone else: He’s innocent until proven guilty. But men in positions of leadership are held to a standard above and beyond legality: They’re supposed to be exemplars. Just by putting himself in position to pose for an unflattering mug shot, the Georgia athletics director has thrown his stewardship into question.

Doesn’t help that Evans had filmed a public service message imploring people not to drink and drive.

WSB-TV reported that a 28-year-old woman, Courtney Fuhrmann, was also in the car was arrested for disorderly conduct.

UGA Sports, a Rivals site, broke the story. You need a subscription to access the story.

By the way, Georgia has scheduled a press conference for 6:30 p.m. to discuss Evans’ situation.
