Before today’s practice, Kentucky coach John Calipari talked to the media about Saturday’s game at Vanderbilt. The UK coach says he has talked to one other coach in the SEC about the unique bench configuration at Memorial Gym. He said the gym “is what it is” and you just play. He also compliments Vandy center A.J. Ogilvy. “The big boy was really good last night,” said Calipari.
Videos of DeMarcus Cousins and John Calipari both talking about the match-up of Cousins vs. Jarvis Varnado, Mississippi State’s shot-blocking sensation. Varnado leads the SEC in blocked shots, averaging five a game in all games. He also leads the SEC in rebounding at 11.3 per game. In SEC games, Varnado is averaging 12.0 rebounds and 5.1 blocked shots per game.

It’s a livestream format, where you can submit questions, etc. We’ll get started at 7:30 p.m., or maybe a little before. We’ll talk about the usual stuff, UK basketball, football, what to expect form the Big Bang Theory Christmas episode.
Remember, this is just an experiment, so I’m not making any great predictions. It could be a disaster. If so, you’ll want to tune in for that, too.
At his meeting with the media today, John Calipari was asked if there’s any change in status with DeAndre Liggins, the sophomore who has yet to appear in a game this season. Cal said not really, but that Liggins is doing better. And the coach isn’t going to tell us, or the general public, what’s going on.
