Vandy-Marquette tops college basketball on TV tonight
Published December 29, 2011 1:12 pm College hoops , TV/radio ClosedSome decent pre-New Year’s college basketball fare on the tube tonight. Billy Donovan and Florida plays Rutgers at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. But the best game could be Vanderbilt at Marquette on ESPN2 at 9 p.m. The Commodores are trying to rebound from a stumbling start that has taken Kevin Stallings’ club completely out of the top 25. After missing the last two game with a re-aggravation of his previous knee injury, Festus Ezeli hopes to be back in the Vanderbilt lineup tonight.
Light schedule, but good college basketball on TV tonight
Published December 27, 2011 2:29 pm College hoops , TV/radio ClosedNot exactly a voluminous slate of college basketball games tonight, but they are all interesting. Trying to rebound from its loss to Wagner, Pittsburgh travels to Notre Dame. Tubby Smith and Minnesota open Big 10 play at Illinois. And Wisconsin travels to Lincoln to welcome Nebraska to Big 10 basketball.
WKU-U of L highlights hoops on television tonight
Published December 23, 2011 1:26 pm College hoops , TV/radio , U of L basketball Closed
Considering how close we are to Christmas, there is a decent amount of college basketball games on the tube tonight. For local interest, top selection is the 7 p.m. game between Western Kentucky and Louisville at the Yum Center on ESPN2. WKU is struggling under embattled coach Ken McDonald. The Hilltoppers are a mere 4-8 with wins over Tennessee State, SE Louisiana, Bowling Green State and Southern Illinois. Fourth-ranked Louisville is 10-0.
- Louisville insists its not looking past Toppers
- Rick Pitino talks Western Kentucky
- Western not scary but Cards still wary
- Hilltoppers aiming for upset at U of L
Program note: I plan to be at U of L-WKU, so look for updates on twitter.
