Just when Indiana fans thought things were settling down concerning the off-the-court exploits of their men’s basketball team, news comes that current Hoosier players Thomas Bryant and Emmitt Holt were cited over the weekend for illegal alcohol possession.
WTHR.com is reporting that state excise police gave citations at 12:50 a.m. Friday to the two players. There has been no comment or statement yet from IU.
Bryant is a true freshman from Huntington Prep in West Virginia. Rivals rated the 6-foot-10 center as the 27th best prospect for the class of 2015. He was one of two top-150 players recruited by Tom Crean. The other was 6-7 forward Juwan Morgan, who was ranked No. 109 by Rivals.
Holt is a sophomore who averaged 3.6 points and three rebounds per game last season. He was in trouble last November when the car he was driving struck teammate Devin Davis, who ended up missing the 2014-15 season. Holt was suspended for four games, including two exhibition games, after tests showed his blood alcohol level at .025.
Just shaking my head about this IU bkb story, especially holt. Wouldn’t be shocked if Crean booted him at this point.
