Mark Stoops wasn’t scheduled to talk to the media after practice today, but obviously in good spirits, the Kentucky football coach stopped by for a chat with his favorite people. Well, “favorite people” might be a bit of a stretch.
Stoops said he liked Tuesday’s practice. Team got a lot of work done. He talked about the desire of the offense to play at a fast pace. Getting good yardage on first down will be a key there.
He talked about quarterback Patrick Towles, who will be making his first career start on Saturday when UK plays UT-Martin. Stoops said he likes the way Towles has been handling the job.
And Stoops talked about running back Jojo Kemp, who was not at full strength much of last year because of bone chips in his ankle. Kemp underwent off-season surgery, then tweaked his hamstring during fall camp. He’s healthy now and ready to go.
Considering Stoops availability and mood, you’d have to say so far, so good as far as preparation for Saturday.
