Steele: UK has more experience than all but two foes

Interesting item from Phil Steele, author of his voluminous college football yearbook. Steele has come up with a formula to determine which team has the most experience returning, right on down to which team has the least returning experience.

Of the 128 teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision, Kentucky ranks No. 56.

Here’s the interesting part: Nine of UK’s 11 FBS opponents on the 2014 schedule have less experience returning than do the Cats.

Opponents returning less experience: No. 64 Florida, No. 71 Georgia, No. 76 UL-Monroe,  No. 77 Louisville, No. 119 LSU, No. 121 Ohio, No. 122 Missouri, No. 123 Tennessee and No. 124 Vanderbilt.

Opponents returning more experience: No. 5 Mississippi State andNo. 22 South Carolina.
