ST. LOUIS — Kentucky did announce after its win over Kansas State that Andrew Harrison suffered a right elbow injury and his status is day-to-day.
The freshman left the game late holding his elbow, but did return briefly. He ended up playing 35 minutes, making one-of-six shots with five assists and six turnovers. He scored seven points.
Andrew will get less than 48 hours to rest the elbow. Kentucky plays Midwest No. 1 seed Wichita State at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Sunday at the Scottrade Center. The winner advances to the Sweet 16 in Indianapolis.
Andrew’s brother, Aaron, scored 18 points, while Julius Randle had 19 points and 15 rebounds as Kentucky won its first NCAA Tournament game since winning the national title in 2012.
