ST. LOUIS — Breaking news: There’s another tweak.
At his press conference on Thursday here at the Scottrade Center, UK coach John Calipari said that after tweaking something with his team’s game before the SEC Tournament, he has added another tweak heading into Friday night’s game with Kansas State.
Calipari didn’t say the what the “tweak” was, but did say that most people would be able to figure out the nature of the tweak.
Calipari said his team “is playing as well as it has played all year.”
He called Kansas State a physical team and praised K-State’s star freshman Marcus Foster as being fun to watch. “I don’t know if he’s going to be fun to play against, but he’s fun to watch.”
Foster is averaging 15.6 points per game for Kansas State, which went 20-12 on the season and 10-8 in the Big 12.
At one point, Cal said he doesn’t watch any of the other games that are going on in the NCAA Tournament because “it has no bearing on my team.” Then later, the UK coach recited exactly what happened with Tennessee’s overtime win over Iowa in the Dayton play-in game on Wednesday night.
