College basketball on television: Feb. 25

Highlighting Tuesday night’s televised college basketball schedule, the new No. 1, Florida, takes its shining status to Music City as the Gators take on Vanderbilt at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

This concludes a stretch of four road games in the last five for the Gators, who have won 19 straight overall. Billy Donovan’s club claims that it must get better on defense. After all, it gave up 22 first-half points Saturday to Ole Miss’ Marshall Henderson. Before that, Florida needed some late mistakes by Auburn to beat the Tigers at the O’Dome.

Vanderbilt has won two of its last three, including a 67-59 victory at Auburn on Saturday. Rod Odom, who has been bothered by a sore thigh after taking a knee during practice last week, hopes to be at full strength for Kevin Stallings’ club.
