Defending the three-point shot

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State made just one of its eight three-point attempts today in its 69-59 loss to 18th-ranked Kentucky.

That’s the sixth game in the Calipari Era when the opponent managed just one made three-point shot. And last year at Auburn, UK held the Tigers without a three-pointer as Tony Barbee’s club went zero-for-15 from behind the arc.

Kentucky plays at Auburn on Wednesday, by the way.

Here is a look at Calipari Era games in which the opponent made one or fewer three-pointers.
