Big day for Kentucky football. Prized target Matt Elam, the mammoth defensive lineman from John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown, is scheduled to announce his college choice at noon.
My prediction: It will be a big day for Kentucky football.
I know, I know, some recent reports have worried the Big Blue faithful, starting with the fact that Elam is not announcing his choice in front of his classmates. Today’s event is for media only.
Then there’s the Courier-Journal report that Elam’s mother says she would be willing to move to Alabama if her son picks the Crimson Tide.
And Bama’s coaches are getting the last in-person visit with Elam this morning. After Mark Stoops and assistants met with Elam on Wednesday, Alabama’s Kirby Smart, Lance Thompson and Bo Davis are to meet with Elam this morning.
I still think Elam casts his lot with Stoops, who wants to make him the centerpiece of the Kentucky defense.
We’ll find out today.
