The guess would be that the Kentucky players are still trying to put out of their minds that 88-58 loss to Tennessee at Knoxville last year, except for the fact only four current Wildcats were part of that Rocky Top rout.
In its first game without injured center Nerlens Noel, who tore his ACL the game before at Florida, Kentucky fell behind 50-26 at halftime. UK assistant John Robic was tossed with 11:17 left in the first half and Kentucky trailing 22-12 and it only went from downhill from there.
The cats actually trailed by as many 39 points in the second half, that with 2:28 left when the scoreboard read: Tennessee 86, Kentucky 47.
It was the worst UK loss by way of margin since a 93-52 dump-trucking at Memorial Gym by Vanderbilt on Feb. 12, 2008. You know, the Billy Gillispie Era.
Here is a look at the Kentucky box score from that dreadful day, with current Cats shaded.
