WTVD-TV in Raleigh is reporting that former North Carolina player Will Graves was arrested on a drug charge at a home he rents from UNC head basketball coach Roy Williams.
Graves is working as a part-time video coordinator for the basketball program while he completes his degree. Grave was kicked off the 2010 team for violating team rules.
This comes as North Carolina is facing eligibility issues that have kept basketball players P.J. Hairston and Leslie McDonald from playing this season. Hairston was suspended indefinitely after after traffic stops that led to charges of marijuana possession and driving without a license. Hairston was riding in cars that were rented by a convicted felon.
Previously, North Carolina has been dealing with an academic scandal that included members of the school’s football and basketball programs. One tutor resigned after Williams did not dismiss Hairston from the basketball team.
Of course, Kentucky plays North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Saturday, 5:15 on ESPN.
