Kentucky basketball picked up its third commitment for 2014 as Moss Point, Mississippi’s Devin Booker picked the Cats, but it sure seems like the Cats might be headed for a split on this Halloween.
Booker, a 6-foot-5 prospect and son of former Missouri star Melvin Booker, picked the Cats over Michigan, Michigan State and Missouri. He joins Karl Towns, Jr. and Tyler Ulis as Kentucky commitments for the Class of 2014.
Booker was rated as the nation’s 18th-best prospect by ESPN. He is ranked 30th by Rivals and gives the Cats three top 35 commits for 2014. Karl Towns, Jr. is 11th and Tyler Ulis is 33rd. Next Cats has a full recruiting page on Booker.
Now, Kentucky awaits James Blackmon, Jr.’s announcement tonight. The son of former UK star James Blackmon, the Indiana prep star was thought to be a strong Kentucky lean, but through the day the momentum appears to be shifting to Indiana.
Blackmon will make his announcement at halftime of the ESPNU football game tonight between Louisiana-Monroe and Troy.
