We the media talked to UK defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot after practice Tuesday as preparations continue for Saturday’s opener in Nashville.
Eliot said he’s happy with his defense, is confident in the conditioning aspect and doesn’t know much about Western quarterback Brandon Doughty. He did say that he feels confident, given the pace of the offense his unit has practiced against, that it will be able to line up correctly on Saturday.
Then I asked the first-year defensive coordinator how he has been sleeping leading up to the first game.
Eliot said not well, but it has little to do with the Hilltoppers.
