Kentucky football schedules scrimmage

Kentucky sent out word last night that Mark Stoops has decided to scrimmage today as the Cats approach the home stretch of preparations for the August 31 opener against Western Kentucky.

It will be interesting to see if the scrimmage plays a role in picking a starting quarterback now that the race has been narrowed to two. Stoops and offensive coordinator Neal Brown hinted Monday that they may be ready to talk publicly about where the quarterbacks stand by the end of the week.

The scrimmage is closed to the media, but as always we’ll have coverage afterwards. Follow Jennifer Smith and myself on Twitter and check her blog and mine for updates and video.
