Kentucky rebounds with commitment from four-star lineman

Now this is the way to rebound.

After missing on three-star offensive lineman Brady Taylor, who committed to Virgina Tech on Monday night, the Cats just picked up a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Nick Richardson, a 6-foot-4, 285-pound class of 2014 prospect out of Westerville, Ohio.

That’s right, Ohio. Richardson is the ninth player out of Ohio to commit to UK for 2014. He joins Tymere Dubose (Youngstown), Mike Edwards (Cincinnati), Dorian Hendrix (Huber Heights), Mikel Horton (West Chester), Jarrett LaRubbio (Liberty Township), Darryl Long (also of Westerville), Taddeus Snodgrass (Springfield) and Darius West (Lima).

Richardson also is the third 2014 offensive lineman to commit to the Cats, joining LaRubbio and Derrick Kelly out of Havana, Fla. And yes, Richardson was recruited by Vince Marrow, who has made deep inroads into the Buckeye State on Kentucky’s behalf.

Rivals ranked Richardson as the seventh-best prospect in Ohio. He is ranked at No. 19 nationally among offensive tackles. He told ESPN three weeks ago that he had trimmed his list to UK and Vanderbilt.
