Earlier today we looked at the composite Class of 2014 football recruiting rankings for SEC schools. Kentucky is currently fifth among conference schools and the Cats are ranked as high as No. 5 (by Rivals) and no lower than 14th (247 Sports).
It should be noted that Louisville is not too far behind, however. The Cards’ Class of 2014 commitments are ranked no lower than 21st by any of the four major services. U of L is ranked 13th nationally by Rivals, 19th by 247 Sports, 19th by Scout and 21st by ESPN.
Nilijah Ballew, a 6-foot-1, 199-pound defensive back from Cincinnati is Charlie Strong’s highest-rated commitment for 2014, according to Rivals. Daniel Gresham, a fullback out of Forth Worth, Texas, is the No. 1 U of L commitment if you go by 247 Sports. Scout likes Reggie Bonnafon, quarterback from Trinity, as the Cards’ top commitment.
So before Kentucky picked up its 21st commitment on Saturday, the Cats were five spots ahead of U of L in the 247 Sports rankings, eight spots in each of the Rivals, Scout and ESPN rankings.
