Michigan State coach is asked about UK recruiting

Michigan State University football coach Mark Dantonio was asked recently about Kentucky football’s recruiting success in Big Ten country, especially in Ohio.

Our old friend Mike Griffith, formerly of the Knoxville News-Sentinel, now of MichiganLive.com, has the details:

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio was asked how Kentucky has impacted the Spartans’ recruiting in Ohio, a state where Dantonio and his staff have many solid high school connections.

“I go back to where I say, ‘what is the truth?’ ” Dantonio said. “It’s about the people. Most people in the Midwest want to play where their family can come see them play.

“The second thing is, what you’re looking for where you go to school is continuity. I don’t know how much continuity they have at Kentucky.”

D’Antoni was also asked about the perception of SEC dominance.
