Tuesday at 12:15, in pretty much a private ceremony,
no press allowed with only Grant Traylor of the Huntington Herald-Dispatch the only journalist allowed access, Andrew Wiggins will bring suspense to an end and pick a college choice for 2013. In case you have been out of the country, Wiggins is the nation’s top recruit and his final choices are believed to be Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina.
A quick review.
Florida State: Wiggins’ parents attended Florida State. If Wiggins heads to the Seminoles, he will be FSU’s unquestioned No. 1 option and would provide Leonard Hamilton’s program a huge boost in the ACC.
Kansas: A perennial power, the Jayhawks are losing quite a bit off last year’s Sweet 16 team. Wiggins would be the No. 1 option and Allen Fieldhouse is a cool place to play basketball.
Kentucky: John Calipari’s has already put together the nation’s best recruiting class, perhaps one of the best in the history of the game. Wiggins would just take that to the next level and start Big Blue Nation fans talking undefeated season.
North Carolina: Roy Williams has plenty returning from a team that came on at the end of last season. The addition of Wiggins would push the Tar Heels into the Top 10 and give North Carolina a shot at the Final Four.
