Todd Pletcher, who has five starters in this year’s Kentucky Derby, is 1 for 31 in the Run for the Roses. The Eclipse Award-winning trainer won the Derby in 2010 with Super Saver, but despite all those entries, he has had just four Derby horses finish in the money.
In 2011, Pletcher was forced to scratch the favorite, Uncle Mo, just before the race and finished 12th with Stay Thirsty. Last year, he was 13th with El Padrio and 16th with Gemologist.
