In an interview yesterday with Neal Brown, the UK offensive coordinator was asked which players he was noticing on the other side of the ball.
“Yeah, Bud Dupree. Bud Dupree,” Brown said. “He kills every two-minute drill we’ve done. He gets off the edge fast. He’s athletic. I really like his game. I think he’s doing a really nice job. And Ashely Lowry is making a ton of plays. Those are two guys that jump out. Now Rumph and Cobble up front, when Rumph was practicing, those guys give us issues. But we schematically we can do some things to help our guys (with them).”
Defensive tackle Donte Rumph suffered a shoulder injury and won’t be back until fall. Mister Cobble also is a holdover defensive tackle. Lowry is a junior safety from Cleveland, Ga.
This is not the first time that Dupree has received praise this spring. The former linebacker is making the move to defensive end under new coordinator D.J. Eliot.
