It was one thing that Kentucky quarterback Maxwell Smith came into spring practice fresh off shoulder and ankle injuries. It was quite another that the sophomore had to learn a new offensive scheme from a new offensive coordinator.
Changes in his footwork to fit the new scheme, threw off Smith’s accuracy, he admitted after Wednesday morning’s practice. But the California native said his accuracy has improved as he becomes more familiar both with the scheme and the technique.
Smith also said he doesn’t feel pressure heading into Saturday’s Spring Game.
“I’ve competed before,” he said.
