ATLANTA — After looking at Trey Burke’s NCAA numbers, let’s take a peek at Louisville guard Russ Smith, who has been U of L’s leading scorer throughout the tournament.
Smith is averaging 21 points per game through Louisville’s five games. He’s made 50 percent of his shots overall and 33 percent of his three-point attempts. An 82 percent free throw shooter during the year, Smith missed seven of 12 free throws in the win over Wichita State on Saturday. He also has more turnovers (15) than assists (11), but then Peyton Siva is Rick Pitino’s primary ballhandler.
