Halftime at Louisville-Duke and Kevin Ware’s injury

INDIANAPOLIS — Halftime here at Lucas Oil where Louisville leads Duke 35-32 in Midwest Region final.

But the story of the first half was the gruesome leg injury suffered by Louisville guard Kevin Ware with 6:33 left. It appeared that Ware broke his leg while on the floor.

The Louisville players were visibly upset and U of L coach Rick Pitino appeared to be wiping away tears as medics were attending to Ware, who was removed on a stretcher.

A statement said the guard was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.

Father Bradley, a long-time Pitino friend who travels with the Louisville team, was in the locker room at halftime and said the players were still pretty shook up.

Here’s halftime box.
