Kentucky took a look at the weather forecast and decided to play a doubleheader today at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
This from the school: “Due to the strong possibility of inclement weather on Sunday, the Kentucky and Mississippi State baseball teams have officially been approved to play a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 12 p.m. The second game will start 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first with both contests set to be nine-inning affairs.”
No. 14 Mississippi State won the series-opener last night 8-4. Jerad Grundy (4-1, 1.93 ERA) will pitch for UK in the first game today, opposing Mississippi State’s Evan Mitchell (0-1, 2.75 ERA). The eighth-ranked Cats are currently 16-5 overall and 2-2 in the SEC.
