ekubkclogo214Kentucky isn’t the only state school with a prime spot on ESPN today. As part of the annual Bracket Busters Saturday, Eastern Kentucky travels to Valparaiso for a 1 p.m. matchup on ESPNU.

The Colonels are 22-6 overall and 11-3 in the OVC. They are also riding a six-game winning streak, which includes a 68-47 romp over arch-rival Morehead State on February 9. Last time out, Eastern shot a season-best 58.6 percent in a 91-53 thrashing of Austin Peay.

Glenn Cosey, a 6-foot junior guard from Flint, Michigan, leads EKU in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game. He’s made 14 of 26 shots over last two games, in which he’s scored 38 points.

With 22 wins, Eastern has tied the school-record for wins in a season. The Colonels are 68th in the latest weekly RPI. Valpo is 84th.

Valparaiso is 21-7 with an 11-3 mark in the Horizon League. Ryan Broekhoff, a 6-7 forward from Australia, leads the team, averaging 16.1 points and 7.7 rebounds.
