I think the ‘controversy’ over the cartoon in the Courier-Journal arose because some readers did not see or could not see the “get well Nerlens” caption in the lower right corner and felt this was the C-J talking garbage towards UK. It turns out a fan actually drew the cartoon and it got published.
That said I’m also sure that some at the C-J did use it as an opportunity to take a whack at UK and royally enjoyed it. They better get their laughs in this season is all I can say.
By the way, Erin Calipari’s drawing / response to the cartoon is hilarious.
