Here’s a trend: Over the past four games, Kentucky has held opponents to under 40 percent shooting from the field.
Texas A&M shot 52.5 percent in upsetting the Cats at Rupp Arena on January 12. Next game, Tennessee shot 46.3 percent at Rupp, though the Vols did lose. Since then, UK has held Auburn to 34.8 percent — the Tigers were 0-of-15 from three-point range — held Alabama to 36.8 percent, held LSU to 39.7 and Ole Miss to 32.9.
This is the second time this season that UK has held four straight opponents under 40 percent. It held Samford to 39.6, Portland to 27.1, Lipscomb to 35.4 and Marshall to 29.5 back in December. Louisville broke the streak by shooting 48.4 in beating UK 80-77 at the Yum Center.
