Louisville’s slump continues with third straight loss

One, two, now three straight losses for Louisville as the Cards fall today 53-51 at Georgetown.

Rick Pitino shook up the starting lineup, bringing Russ Smith off the bench, but it was Peyton Siva who struggled. The senior point guard was plagued by foul trouble and ended up playing 23 minutes without scoring a point. Siva took just two shots, missing both. He didn’t make it to the foul line and had just one assist.

Georgetown’s Otto Porter and Markel Starks each scored 17 points for the winners, who outrebounded Louisville 35-28. Porter grabbed 11 rebounds. Georgetown held Louisville to just 34 percent shooting.

So after being elevated to the No. 1 ranking, Louisville has gone 0-3 and dropped in the polls. Pitino’s club lost to Syracuse at home 70-68 last Saturday, then 74-67 at Villanova on Tuesday. (Villanova upset Syracuse in overtime today.) The Cards come home Monday night to play Pittsburgh.

  1. Louisville has turned into a total joke of a team. They think that they can just press the crap out of teams and it will save them from their pathetic lack of offense. They got lucky last year. Luck eventually runs out. BTW. . . I am not a UK fan bashing UL. Cayts (as you losers call your team) suck too…maybe even more.

    Total joke? Please.

Wait. My bad. You are right. No joke. I mean big joke. You weren’t joking. And watch…djokovic will win the Aussie Open.
