A look at today’s SEC basketball games

A look at today’s SEC games:

Arkansas (3-2) at South Carolina (1-4) – Arkansas has won three of its last four games, including a 96-70 thumping of visiting Mississippi State on Wednesday. The Razorbacks are 0-2 on the road in the league so far, however. Arkansas’ Marshawn Powell is averaging 20.3 points over his last three games. South Carolina put a scare into Missouri before losing 71-65 on Tuesday. The Gamecocks have lost two straight. TV-1:30, SEC Network.

Alabama (4-1) at Tennessee (1-4) – Coming off Tuesday night’s 59-55 win over visiting Kentucky, Bama takes a four-game win streak into Knoxville. Alabama won the first meeting between the two teams, 68-65 in Tuscaloosa just two Saturdays ago. The Tide’s Trevor Lacey has 15 assists in his last three games. Tennessee got 21 points from Jordan McRae in the first meeting. McRae scored 26 in UT’s loss at Ole Miss on Thursday. TV-2:00, ESPN2.

LSU (1-4) at Kentucky (3-2) – It’s a must-win game for the Cats before they travel to Ole Miss and Texas A&M next week. Kyle Wiltjer has led Kentucky in scoring each of last three games. LSU got its first league win on Wednesday night, beating Texas A&M 58-54. Johnny Jones’ team is 1-4 on the opponents’ home floor this season. Its one win was at UC-Irvine. TV-4:00, SEC Network.

Vanderbilt (2-3) at Missouri (3-2) – Missouri squeaked out a 71-65 win over South Carolina in Columbia on Tuesday. Alex Oriakhi had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. In the league, Missouri is 3-0 at home and 0-2 on the road. Vanderbilt has won two straight, beating South Carolina 58-51 in Columbia and Auburn 73-61 in Nashville. TV-5:00, ESPNU.

Georgia (1-4) at Texas A&M (2-3) – Georgia actually led Texas A&M 27-24 at the half before falling 64-47 to visiting Gators on Wednesday. Aggies need to find a way to get Elston Turner going again. Since his 40-point game at Kentucky on January 12, Turner has scored 22 points in three games. A&M has lost all three. TV-6:00, Fox Sports South.

Florida (5-0) at Mississippi State (2-3) – In their five SEC games, Florida has beaten Georgia by 33, LSU by 18, Texas A&M by 21, Missouri by 28 and Georgia (again) by 17. Florida’s Will Yeguete has double-figure rebounds in two of his last four games. After a 2-0 start, Mississippi State has lost three straight games by a combined 83 points. TV-8:00, ESPN2.

Ole Miss (5-0) at Auburn (2-3) – Ole Miss has won eight straight games overall and its first five in the league. Marshall Henderson scored 28 points in the win over visiting Tennessee on Thursday. Auburn has lost three straight as it comes home to face the unbeaten Rebels. Auburn center Robb Chubb is averaging nine rebounds per game over his last six games. TV-8:00, Fox Sports South.
