Kentucky will be without Willie Cauley-Stein again tonight as the freshman forward did not make the trip to Alabama, head coach John Calipari said today in a tweet.
Cauley-Stein, who had a “minor” surgical procedure performed on his left knee last week, also missed the team’s trip to Auburn which resulted in a 75-53 victory over the Tigers last Saturday. He was replaced in the starting lineup by senior guard Julius Mays.
Kentucky is at Alabama tonight at 9 o’clock on ESPN and during Monday’s media opportunity, Calipari said that the matchup would be “a guard’s game” so the guess is that Mays will get the starting call again, even though Kyle Wiljter is coming off back-to-back 17-point games.
I was very pleased that WCS was able to get in a good treadmill workout Monday. As a precaution, he stayed in Lex & will not dress tonight.
