Here at Auburn Arena for Kentucky-Auburn. Already told that not all the students lined up are probably going to make it inside. We stopped at a barbecue place near downtown before game and was almost immediately hit up by someone asking if I had an extra ticket.
And this is basketball.
In a pre-game ceremony, Auburn is to posthumously retire the jersey of Mike Mitchell, a former All-American and the school’s all-time leading rebounder. There were reports that Charles Barkley and Gus Malzahn will both be in attendance.
Kentucky is without Willie Cauley-Stein, who did not make the trip after having a “minor” procedure done on his left knee Thursday. The freshman stayed home to get extra treatment. So Kentucky will be going with pretty much a six-man rotation tonight.
