With free throw shooting being a pre-conference issue for this Kentucky basketball team, and with the Cats opening conference play on the road at Vanderbilt on Wednesday night, let’s take a look at how UK fares from the stripe on the road versus at home.
Not that UK is a good foul-shooting team overall, but the Cats have been particularly woeful away from Rupp Arena. In their three road losses, they made just 33 of 58 free throws for 56.9 percent. In the two true road losses, at Notre Dame and at Louisville, Kentucky made just 19 of 37 free throws for 51.4 percent.
As you might expect, UK’s three best free throw shooting efforts all season have come at home — 75.6 percent against Morehead, 77.8 percent against Marshall and 75 percent against Eastern Michigan.
