Ryan Harrow has taken very good care of the basketball

No basketball team in America forces turnovers at the rate Louisville forces turnovers. To this point, nine of the Cardinals’ 12 opponents turned over the basketball at least 20 times when playing U of L.

On the flip side, heading into Saturday’s matchup at the KFC Yum Center, Kentucky point guard Ryan Harrow is turning the ball over at a very infrequent rate. True, Harrow has missed considerable time early in the season, including the entire Duke game and played just nine minutes against Notre Dame, but the sophomore has thus far has taken almost impeccable care of the basketball.

In fact, Harrow is averaging just 1.36 turnovers per 40 minutes on the floor. Of the last nine UK point guards, only Patrick Sparks in 2004-05 turned it over at a rate of less than three times every 40 minutes on the floor. Sparks’ average was 2.61 per 40 minutes that season.

Here’s a look at Harrow’s assist and turnover numbers compared to his nine predecessors at the position.
