Louisville’s Gorgui Dieng to practice today

Injured Louisville center Gorgui Dieng was to practice today and then Rick Pitino would make a decision about Dieng’s status.

The 6-foot-10 junior center has not played since fracturing a bone in his wrist on Nov. 23 in U of L’s 84-61 win over Missouri in the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament in the Bahamas.

Pitino had been saying that Dieng would not be available until Louisville’s Big East opener against Providence on January 2, but the native of Senegal could be ready when Kentucky comes to the KFC Yum Center on Saturday.
