Kentucky still unranked in AP poll

The new AP college basketball poll is out, and Kentucky remains out of the Top 25. The Cats are second among teams “also receiving votes” behind New Mexico.

Louisville climbed a spot from No. 5 to No. 4, the ranking the Cardinals will have Saturday when Kentucky visits the KFC Yum Center.

Duke is still No. 1, followed by Michigan, Arizona, Louisville and Indiana. Missouri is ranked seventh after beating Illinois on Saturday. Florida dropped to 14th after losing to  Kansas State in Kansas City. No other SEC teams are ranked.

The Cats are 23rd in the USA Today coaches’ poll.

KY loses two and drops out of top 25. Florida loses two and drops to 14. Is that bias? Louisville loses and stays in top ten. Is that bias? I agree that Kentucky is not a top rated team at this point, but not a top 25 team is ridiculous. KY will probably get beaten by Louisville this week end and drop out of the top 50. But if they did win I doubt if the AP would have them back in the top 25 . The coaches poll which knows more about BB at least has them In the top 25. We’ll see where they wind up in March.
