To replace the departed Tommy Tuberville, Texas Tech has hired 33-year-old Kliff Kingsbury as its head coach.
As offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Texas A&M, Kingsbury helped turned Johnny Manzeil into the Heisman Trophy winner. Before that, Kingsbury was the quarterback for Mike Leach when the “Air Raid” offense came to Lubbock.
Emily Jones of Fox Sports Southwest caught up with Leach to get his reaction to Kingsbury's hire.
She tweeted: “Mike Leach on Kliff Kingsburgy's hiring as Texas Tech's head football coach: “Stud!!!” #directquote
