With Sonny Dykes reportedly taking the California head coaching job, Louisiana Tech is another school that may take a look at Texas Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown.
New Kentucky coach Mark Stoops is believed to have the former UK wide receiver high on his offensive coordinator list, but Southern Miss and Arkansas State are reportedly interested in talking to Brown about their head coach openings. Now add Louisiana Tech to that list.
Brown, 32, ran the nation’s No. 2 pass offense at Texas Tech last season and has ties to the Hal Mumme/Mike Leach/Tony Franklin/Sonny Dykes “Air Raid” offense.
As far as UK goes, despite Brown being linked to schools looking for head coaches, I’m hearing this morning that Stoops and Brown are talking about the job here, and Brown remains very interested. There are some sticking points, however, and as of last night there was no agreement.
