Podcast: Florida State beat writer talks Mark Stoops

I talked to Corey Clark, Florida State beat writer for the Tallahassee Democrat, about FSU defensive coordinator Mark Stoops, who was named head coach at Kentucky today.

Clark said Stoops is a likable, personable guy who turned around  the Florida State defense and is known as a tremendous recruiter, especially in Miami and the South Florida area. He said that Stoops has made no secret about the fact he wanted to be a head coach and should do a good job at UK.

  1. Doug Kidd says:

I have been a life long Kentucky fan, growing up in Northern Kentucky. I now live just outside Jacksonville, Fl. and many of my friends are FSU fans. Because of that, I have followed FSU football for a couple years, and I am really excited about the hiring of Coach Stoops. He will bring a passion back to Commonwealth Stadium. He’s a fiery type coach with an excitng personality. Let’s continue to back the Cats, and give this man a chance! #BBN

This is the same guy that the Gators just hung 37 points on last Saturday? SECond in the nation but not very good against one of the best in the SEC. FSU took an SEC beating last weekend.
