Who knew that the first former Kentucky football player to throw an NFL touchdown pass since 2003 would be Tim Masthay?
The Green Bay Packers punter and holder executed a perfect fake field goal attempt in Green Bay's 23-10 win over the Chicago Bears.
Late in the second quarter, Masthay took the snap for what appeared to be a field goal. Instead, Masthay flipped the ball to backup tight end Tim Crabtree, who raced 27 yards for the touchdown that put the Packers up 10-0 with 1:50 left in the half.
Green Bay kicker Mason Crosby then made a 35-yard field goal on the final play of the half to stretch the lead to 13-0 at intermission.
As Jon Hale of KyForward points out, Tim Couch was the last UK player to throw a touchdown pass in the NFL and that was in 2003.
Hat tip to Kyle Tucker of the C-J.
