Embattled Texas Tech coach Billy Gillispie is out on indefinite sick leave, the school announced today.
The school opened an investigation August 31 into Gillispie’s tactics and practices. A group of current players met with Texas Tech officials to air complaints about Gillispie, who was head coach at UK for two seasons.
About the time that news leaked, Gillispie was checked into a Lubbock hospital after calling 9-1-1 saying he was experiencing chest pains. He said he thought he was having either a heart attack or a stroke.
Some of Gillispie’s former players have spoken up on the coach’s behalf, but there is a strong feeling that Billy G. will not be able to hold on to his job in Lubbock.

The leading scorer on the club told Andy Katz today that if Billy G. is back he doesn’t want to be.
Billy G. is playing mind games again, using up his sick time before he has to meet with the A.D., who will promptly fire him for incompetence among other things.
This guy is certifiable (despite what Bill Self thinks…)
