Bama’s $9 million strength facility to have a “juice room”

The University of Alabama’s Board of Trustees approved funding for a $9.1 million strength and conditioning facility.

The 34,495 square-foot facility will be two stories tall and should be completed and in use by January, 2013.

Included will be a “juice room.”

Excerpt from Andrew Gribble of Birmingham News:

The facility, according to the proposal, will include a check-in desk, weight room, cardio/rehab area, strength coaches’ offices, graduate assistant workrooms, nutrition bar, juice room, restrooms, medical office suite, elevator, janitor’s closet and storage.

While it plans to be located at the heart of Alabama’s football headquarters, the building will be open and used by all of the university’s athletic programs.

Asked about the rumored project in May, Nick Saban said it’s important for Alabama to “stay on the cutting edge.”

Juice used to be slang for steroids. They might want to rename that room.

Oh John, I read your post yesterday, and you called us fans (cry-babies) Well, It is clear to see the type of support other SEC schools gets with their football programs………Mitch had every right to go climb some mountain… But the timing of it was just wrong……… and it goes far to show ya the support UK football really gets……. We the fans have every right to with-hold our money from buying season tickets……… We have the right to see UK football on the same level as our basketball program is on… We have the right to share the excitment that comes with each & every new season (Yet, we are without much hope) Picked to finiah last in the SEC altogether……. We a few additions of new SEC schools, things will not get much better (if we don’t start investing, and bring in the top players, as coach Cal did when he started out here at UK) The only way we can get some attention is by not buying tickets…….. and the sale thereof is down by 30% sinch last year… This is a major statement that no one there at UK can look silently past……….
